Hey guys it’s the 10th IIFA awards for the year 2009
GREEN CARPET: The Green Carpet was hosted by the ever sizzling Shweta Salve and Gaurav. The atmosphere was filled with the excitement of the crowds as their screams made way for their favourite stars. Every star was looking beautiful in clothes designed by top designers. Both the hosts started welcoming and having an opening word with the stars………… with Gaurav presenting a few with miniature IIFA trophy.
We saw the enterance of Priyanka Chopra in a beautiful Cream colored net sari, Aishwarya in a light green one and Bipasha Basu looking gorgeous in a blue gown, Dia in pink dress, Jenelia D’souza in a peach one and also the actors looking ever handsome like Abhishek, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Hritik Roshan (the handsome mughal emperor), the list goes on!!……
MAIN EVENT: The IIFA awards started with an opening act of the city hosting the function, that’s Macau…….which made way for the funniest host Jodi ever that’s Boman Irani and Ritesh Deshmukh (BnR), after cracking a few starting jokes they gave the stage to the star of the millennium and ambassador of IIFA Mr. Amitabh Bachchan giving the opening speech.
Then began the first act with Lara Dutta joining Boman and Ritesh onstage, where Lara announced the giving away of first set of technical awards, which were presented by Mr. Amrish Jain and Raima Sen

Then came back on stage boman as Anil kapoor dancing to the tunes of ram lakhan but asks to play his international tune of Slumdog millionaire and he called aamir khan (ritesh) on stage and questioning him as they were on the sets of KBC like which of Amir’s movies is admired by Anil and replies ‘Mela’ and amir says it was a jhamela, then he asks him about Ghajini and how it took Aamir two months to prepare his haircut and one month to make road on it (ha ha!!!) so taking their convo to Sonam Kapoot they welcomed her on stage for her debut performance at IIFA.

Sonam Kapoor giving a dazzling performance on the songs from her two films “Sawariya” and next on the famous song ‘masakalli’ from the movie “Delhi-6”.
Then paying homage to the people who contributed enormously to the Indian Film Industry and whom we lost this year and a special tribute was paid to Feroz Khan who led his life king size
Then Lara Dutta called on stage Minisha Lamba and Peter Andre to give away the award for the best playback singer (female)

And the award was won by Shreya Ghoshal for beautifully singing Teri Ore in the movie Singh is Kinng
Tushar Kapoor and Shreyas Talpade presented the award for

And the award was won by Javed Ali for Jashan-e-Baharaa from the movie Jodhaa Akbar

And the award was won by Javed Akhtar for Jashan-e-Bahara from the movie Jodhaa Akbar
Rakesh Mehra gave away the Special music award to AR Rahman for his immense contribution to cinema.
Then back on stage came boman , rtitesh and lara all dressed in the dressed related to those of the film ‘ love story 2050 that what would happen to our stars and films in the future and so they way to the debut performance by Jacky Baghnani.
After this came on stage CEO star India uday shankar and Jenelia to announe the winners of Best Debutant:

Then, Ashutosh Gwarikar presented the award for Outstanding Achievement by an Indian in International Cinema to Aishwarya Rai Bachchan
Then an act on assumptions, if there were elections among the stars then who would be given which portfolio…………following were the choices for
Ministry of Agriculture – Ashutosh Gwarikar (for films like Lagaan, Swades, etc.)
Ministry of Home - Aamir Khan (for always being home)
Ministry of Finance - Akshay Kuma (for being the highest paid actor)
Ministry of Overseas – Ms. Pinto (for Slumdog Millionaire)
Ministry of Youth Affairs – Katrina Kaif (‘coz youngsters wanna have affair with her)
Ministry of Law – Sunny Deol (showed a clip of Ghayal so changed the ministry to Transportation playing the song ‘main nikla gaddi leke’ from Gadar)
Next segment was to give away the awards for stars for their works in past decade. This set of honours was meant to commemorate 10 years of IIFA awards. The first award in this set was presented by Anil Kapoor for:
Star of the Decade – Female

Then neil nitin mukesh, mugda and madhur bandarkar were called on stage to give away the decade award for”

Then, Pooja batra and Arjun Rampal came on stage to announce the winner of comic role –

Then, Dino Morea and Zayed Khan presented the award for negative role –

And it was won by Akshaye Khanna for his performance in Race.

And this award was won for the unconventional story of ‘A Wednesday’ written by Neeraj Pandey

After this, we saw a comic act taking the base of SRK movie Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, which gave way to the beautiful performance of Anushka Sharma……
Followed this the energetic and breath taking performance of Abhishek Bachchan in which he down in the audience to be accompanied by his gorgous wife Aishwarya on a few dance steps…..WOW!!!!
After this, Javed Akhtar and Ronie Screwala were called on stage to present the next decade award……

Then, Hritik Roshan announced winner of :

Sonam Kapoor presented Ashutosh Gwarikar with Movie of the Decade award for his movie Lagaan
Next, Boman came down into the audience to play antakshari with various stars; he started with shabana azmi then arjun rampal then hritik roshan ( song from old dostana) then sonam kapoor then bipasha (so cheeky of u bipash jus coz ur hot so thsnde thande paani se) then priyanka with farhan akhtar then amitabh then david dhawan…….leading to the first preview of david’s new movie ‘Do Knot Disturb’ and on its song performed Govinda and Ritesh Deshmukh
Farhan n madhvan announced the next award of -
Performance in a Supporting Role (Male) – nominations were:

Amrita rao and Arshad Warsi announced the neaxt award for -

And this award was won by Kangana Ranaut for her performance in movie Fashion
This year’s Life time achievement award was announced by Amitabh Bachchan and it was presented to Rajesh Khanna for his forty years of contribution to the Indian cinema
Followed by life time award was a special award to be presented to a person for his/her contribution to the awareness towards the environment called as Green Globe award – and this was given to Rahul Bose
Then came turn of the style awards sponsored by IDEA and presented by Priyanka Chopra -

Then we witnessed a sizzling and astonishing performance by Aishwarya Rai

And it was won by the movie Jodha Akbar
Then, Anushka Sharma and Raveena tondon to give away the last but surely not the least award of the evening, thst is, -
